Alright, I think I can truthfully say that this is the worlds greatest sport, from both Kevin's and my point of view. Freestyle motocross has been around for about eight years now, but has only gone manstream in the past two or three years. The first time freestyle motocross was introduced to the large public, was in a small production by two friends, who wanted to show that motocross is more than racing, and people can actually go out and have fun in the dunes, and out in a field behind a new subdivision. These two great men are Dana Nicholson, and Jon Freeman, and their film, Crusty Demons of Dirt. Check the Crusty page for more info. Anyway, in this video, there was a young 17 year old named Mike Metzger, who, while the other riders were jumping high, and the odd nac-nac, Metz comes over a jump in Indio valley and pulls a heel clicker, which at the time was unheard of. Aside from that, he was busting front fender grabs, barhops, and other moves that now seem easy in the world of FMX. Since then, Freestyle motocross has grown to international events, and people have gone from doing heel clickers, to doing a complete backflip with a motocross bike.
